Theo Adam

These recordings from Berlin Classics are now being released in an impressive, collectors edition box set to celebrate the ninetieth birthday of one of the twentieth centurys finest voices, Theo Adam. These recordings, when released individually, have thrilled listeners and been lauded by critics for years. Theo Adams impressive career began in 1937, when he was a choirboy with the Dresden Kreuzchor. Twelve years later his career took an impressive upturn when he became a member of the famous Semperoper. This is where he achieved his fame as a virtuoso. In 2006, Theo decided that 80 is time to stop, and he brought his opera career to an end with his final performance as the hermit in Webers Der Freischutz at the Dresden Semperoper. The booklet included in this release includes an impressive series of photographs of Theo in several of the more than 100 roles that he played in his career.
