This Christmas

This Christmas ARETHA is the first holiday album in her legendary career. Aretha is happy that at last, a long held personal wish to add her superlative musical skills to a set of holiday songs has been fulfilled.  The Queen of Soul puts her definitive stamp on a collection of traditional and contemporary classics associated with the holiday season.  Aretha produced three tracks, arranged and added her inimitable touch as a pianist on "Silent Night" and "14 Angels."  Award-winning producer Tena Clark produced the remaining seven songs.  This Christmas ARETHA is not only a superb record but a Franklin family affair; Aretha's sons, singer Eddie contributes vocals on the Donny Hathaway classic, "This Christmas" and guitarist Teddy adds his musical signature to the rousing gospel classic, "The Lord Will Make A Way."  As Aretha says, "check out these grooves!"
