The Constant

Jim Black has been an influential figure in progressive jazz since the nineties. For this, his Intakt Records debut, he performs with pianist Elias Stemeseder and bassist Thomas Morgan. Linernotes by Hank Shteamer read, The Constant, a suitelike collection of 10 new pieces, is a meditation on song- a celebration of plain-spoken melody but also an interrogation of the fragility of musical order.
