Nuestra Isla, Nuestro Encanto

In 1993 in celebration of the 100th anniversary of Banco Popular of Puerto Rico, the Bank began its tradition of producing music specials. Known as the Banco Popular musical special (largest banking institution in Puerto Rico) the special is a gift from Banco Popular to its public in CD and DVD and contains the musical traditions of Puerto Rico and Latin America. This collection has included local and international artists such as Ruben Blades, Juan Luis Guerra, Ricky Martin, Shakira, Juanes and Marc Anthony among many others.
In addition to promoting traditions, the musical specials serve as a platform to support through the sale of musical pieces the organizations, schools and communities that the Banco Popular Foundation supports. This year, after the passage of Hurricane Maria through Puerto Rico, the institution made the decision to award part of the funds collected from this sale to the account Embracing Puerto Rico with the aim of helping communities that have been impacted by this atmospheric phenomena.

This year Banco Popular is dedicating its musical special to the various festivals that exist on the island. Featured as part of the musical special are sports carnivals of Ponce, Loiza and Hatillo, the various festivals in several towns, religious festivals such as the Virgin of Carmen, San Sebastian Street and the more particular celebrations such as visits to discos and 15th birthday parties among others. This production puts forth the best face of Puerto Rico even in difficult times as a happy country where everything is celebrated with music.
