Little Girl Blue, from Nina Simone

This is cellist Sonia Wieder-Atherton's tribute to Nina Simone. The project includes songs by Nina Simone (Black Swann, Little Girl Blue, Fodder on my wings, That's all I want from you, You can Have Him, Come Ye e.a.) arranged for cello, piano, percussions, as well as works by Bach and Rachmaninov that show the exceptional classical music background Nina Simone had developed during her childhood and that never left her.

There is one thing I am sure of: she moves you and enchants you beyond belief. But then we all know that. What I also know is that her voice, and her song, go with her alone to a place from which none of us return unscathed.
