Manufacturer Description

From deep in the vaults comes a digital re-release of their unplugged 'jazz' LP from 1982 featuring their 'interpretations' of the music of Duke Ellington and Fats Waller. As a 'special' treat, the additional bonus tracks comprise the entire Jonathan & Darlene Disco Singles Collection from 1979 as originally premiered on the Dr. Demento Radio Program.

History: Jonathan & Darlene Edward's 1957 debut album awarded them a 48 star review in Downbeat Magazine. Their second recording, Jonathan & Darlene In Paris won them the 1960 Grammy for best comedy album. Though this award category somewhat bewildered them it nevertheless continued a 25 year recording 'career' which culminated in this final album, originally released in 1982. When Jonathan & Darlene Edwards put their indelible mark on any style of music it's very hard to erase! Indeed their jazz 'interpretations' of these classic Ellington, Waller and Strayhorn compositions are a unique listening experience. It's difficult to imagine how Duke, Fats, and Billy would have reacted to these performances!
