Gregory s 1961 debut shows how far we ve come as an audience and as a nation, as each of his pointed routines (e.g. joking about voting several times in the last election to make up for years of not being able to vote at all) is preceded by a narrator, as if the label (Colpix) felt it needed to soften the blows! But Gregory s wit and intelligence win out; indeed, this album was his breakthrough release.
