Get Me Joe Beck

Studio and session guitarist Joe Beck (1945-2008) seemingly played with, or backed, just about everyone: Esther Phillips, Miles Davis, James Brown, Frank Sinatra, and Gil Evans to name but a few. He himself recorded for Verve, Kudu and DMP. During his final years, he recorded a number of CDs on Whaling City. This live album, from this period and dating from 2006, finds Joe in a trio setting performing mostly American Songbook standards, including Stella By Starlight, Alone Together and Tenderly.
